Orlando, FL - A veteran-owned company made a big impact at the 2005 Assistive Technology Industry Association Showcase (ATIA) held at the Caribe Royale Resort & Convention Center on Jan. 19th - 22nd. Veteran-owned and information technology firm Intercon Associates featured its latest software product, Accessible FormNet™, which has revolutionized the ability to provide accessibility and usability to electronic forms.

Intercon Associates supported GSA Standard and Optional Forms Management in a seminar entitled “Accessible Forms – A Unique Team Approach Emphasizes Usability.” Usability was the key goal in a unique team approach to make federal forms accessible for the visually impaired. Feedback from federal, state and educational institutions in attendance was very positive and Accessible FormNet™ should be helpful for anyone dealing with this challenging issue. A visually impaired employee from U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs said, “Thank you for pointing me to the GSA web site where I can now get these forms that are so critical to my job.”

A publication editor with the American Foundation for the Blind after learning about the product stated, "We need to get this type of technology out to everyone."

ATIA 2005 was a four-day educational conference showcasing the latest advances in Assistive Technology from more than 100 worldwide leading industry providers. Intercon Associates participated in the showcase and featured its Accessible FormNet™ technology.

Accessible FormNet™ makes it easier for businesses and individuals to access and use electronic forms. The software’s unique “Scripting for Accessibility” function enables people who are blind or visually impaired to access and use these electronic forms as well.

From the start, the software was designed with the user in mind – both sighted and visually impaired. In fact, blind and visually impaired Federal employees from the Departments of Veterans Affairs, Education and the 508 Council were key members of the design team assembled by Intercon.

Accessible FormNet™ is already in use by numerous Federal agencies, including the U.S. General Services Administration (GSA).
